Viloria kumpiyansang mananalo kay Segura

MANILA, Philippines - Alam ni Brian Viloria kung gaano kalakas ang kan­yang dating sparmate na si Giovanni Segura.

At kumpiyansa ang 31-anyos na si Viloria na hindi siya ang magiging pang 24 na boksingerong mapapabagsak ng 29-an­yos na si Segura bukas sa kanilang championship fight sa Ynares Sports Arena sa Pasig City.

“Everybody knows Segura has power and his re­cord shows, that’s no secret to nobody,” ani Viloria kay Segura. “Now, we’ll see du­ring the fight if he can land those shots.”

Itataya ni Viloria ang kanyang bitbit na World Bo­xing Organization (WBO) flyweight crown laban kay Segura para sa kanyang unang pagdedepensa sa titulong kanyang nakuha matapos ang isang unanimous decision win laban kay Julio Cesar Miranda noong Hulyo sa Hawaii.

Taglay ni Viloria ang 29-3-0 win-loss-draw ring record kasama ang 16 KOs, samantalang tangan ni Segura ang 28-1-1, (24 KOs) slate.

Si Viloria ay nagkampeon na sa light flyweight division ng IBF at World Boxing Council (WBC), ha­bang naghari naman si Segura sa WBO at WBA light flyweight class.

Inamin ni Viloria na si Segura ang isa sa magi­ging pinakamabigat niyang laban.

“I know I’ve sparred with him. I know his style but I know he comes into the fights in shape and ready to go to war, so this is going to be up there. It’s going to be up there as one of my most difficult fights,” wika ni Viloria.

Sa kanyang laban sa bansa noong Enero 23, 2010, naagaw kay Viloria ang kanyang suot na Interna­tional Boxing Fe­deration (IBF) light flyweight title ni Panamanian challenger Carlos Tamara via 12th-round TKO loss.
