Lajola 'di pinayagang makalaro sa SEAG

MANILA, Philippines - Jakarta--Tanging ang lawn tennis association ang naapektuhan sa idinaos na marathon delegation registration meeting para sa 26th Southeast Asian Games na magbubukas sa Palembang sa Nobyembre 11.

Nailaglag sa national team si United State Tennis Association-trained Dennis Lajola na papalitan ni veteran Johnny Arcilla, makakatambal si Fil-Am Denise Dy sa mixed doubles at si Threat Huey sa men’s doubles.

 “He communicated rather belatedly that he was not given the green light to play for the SEAG by the USTA which trains him,” sabi ni tennis association secretary-general and Deputy Chef de Mission Romeo Magat.

Kabilang rin sa men’s team sina Fil-Am Cecil Ma­miit at Jeson Patrombon, habang nasa women’s squad sina Clarisse Patri­monio at Mariane Jade Capadocia.

Noong 2009 SEA Ga­mes sa Laos, dalawang gold, dalawang silver at da­lawang bronze medals ang naiuwi ng mga national netters.

Tinalakay sa delegation registration meeting ang mga isyu sa accommodations, transportation at accreditation isa mga venues sa Jakarta, Palembang at West Java. Lalahok ang bansa sa 39 sa 42 regular sports isa 2011 SEA Games na matatapos sa Nobyembre 22.
