Vivas sinibak ni Sunga sa VP Binay Grand Prix

MANILA, Philippines - Gumawa ng ingay si Paolo Lorenzo Sunga ma­ta­pos patalsikin si second seed Paul Vivas, 21-19, 21-19, patungo sa quarter­final round ng men’s Open singles sa fourth leg ng VP Binay Grand Prix Badminton Open Championships-PBaRS kahapon sa Po­wersmash sa Makati.

Ginitla ni Sunga, ang best finish ay bilang ninth-placer sa second leg ng national ranking circuit sa Bacolod, ang paboritong si Vivas sa premier division ng week-long P1 million tournament na inihahandog ng MVP Sports Foundation at Robinsons Land.

Makakatapat ni Sunga si Whackers BA/Lining Ralph Mendez, tinalo si Ronel Estanislao, 21-15, 21-16, sa quarterfinals sa event na inorganisa nina Vice President at PBA president Jejomar Binay, Rep. Albee Benitez at businessman-sportsman Manny Pangilinan.

Umiskor rin ng panalo si top seed at four-peat seeking Toby Gadi mula sa kanyang 22-24, 21-10, 21-10 paggiba kay Wilfredo Amoroso para itakda ang kanilang quarters duel ni Phl-Victor Andrei Babad, iginupo si Sonny Boy Montilla, 21-11, 21-19.
