“The level of basketball here in the Philippines has greatly improved since I was here playing,” wika ni Bates, “The players now are a lot bigger, stronger, smarter. I really think it’s time for a Filipino basketball player should enter into the NBA.”

“I know they’re playing in a high level here in the PBA with a lot of intensity, a lot of energy,” wika ni Bates, kinuha ni team owner Mikee Romero ng Harbour Centre bilang skills coach ng AirAsia Philippine Patriots para sa 3rd ASEAN Basketball League na nakatakda sa Enero ng 2012.
