Pinoy martial arts artists masusukat sa Middle East

MANILA, Philippines - Masusukat ang husay ng mga Filipino martial arts artist sa nakatakdang pagsabak sa isang prestihiyosong international martial arts competition sa Middle East.

Sasabak ang World Union of TOA Associations-Philippines (WUTA-Philip­pines), kilala rin bilang International Amateur Muay Thai Federation--Philippines (IAMTF- Phil) at Kickbo­xing Association of the Philip­pines (KAP) sa World WU­TA Championships na ga­ganapin sa Shiraz, Iran sa Nobyembre 6-12, 2011.

Pamumunuan ang de­legasyon ni Master Roland R. Catoy bilang puno ng de­legasyon kasama sina head coach Eugene Grafil at ang pambato ng bansa na si Adamson Torbiso ng Ce­bu na sasabak sa 58kgs, mayana (individual combat) event.

Sasailalim ang dalawang opisyal sa coaching at officiating seminars sa tor­neong hinati sa tatlong ka­tegorya -- mayana (indi­vidual combat) para sa 18-anyos pataas na babae at lalaki; do choob (indivi­dual short stick combat); at gilma (wrestling) event.

Inorganisa ang kam­peo­­nato ng WUTA, sa pagta­taguyod ng Iran Kung Fu Fe­deration sa ilalim ng pa­ngangasiwa ng Iran Minis­try of Sports and Youth , Olympic Committee of I.R. Iran, Go­vernor General of Fars Pro­vince at General Dept and Youth of Fars Province.

Ayon kay WUTA President Ali Montazeri Najaf Fa­badi, ang layunin ng world championships ay upang mai-promote at mapalaganap ang national martial art ng Iran na TOA at mapabilang ito sa Olympic sports sa hinaharap.
