“I’ve been here for 22 years. I just wanted to try and have a change and take a different direction and take another challenge,” sabi ni Cone, nagsimulang igiya ang Alaska noong 1988 sa edad na 31-anyos. “The No.1 challenge for me is to take it from here and improve to wherever I end up and see if I can emulate what I did in the past 22 years with the Alaska organization.”

“There’s no truth to the rumors. I have not received any firm offers,” wika ni Cone. “This is like a leap of faith for me. I would still want to continue to coaching and would consider any opportunities that are out there for me.”

“Definitely, may pressure kasi 22 years with 13 championships. But I will do my best,” sabi ni Banal, halos 10 taon na naging assistant ni Cone sa bench ng Alaska.
