Castilo-Magno PBaRS doubles champion

MANILA, Philippines - Pinayukod nina Gelita Castilo at Dia Nicole Magno sina Malvinne Alcala at Danica San Ignacio, 21-15, 17-21, 21-19, upang mapanatili ang kanilang Open women’s doubles crown sa MVP Sports Foundation-Bingo Bonanza Philippine Badminton Ranking System (PBaRS) tournament sa Pohang Badminton Courts sa Bacolod City.

Iginupo rin ng Castilo-Magno tandem sina Bian­ca Carlos at Patrisha Malibiran sa Under-19 girls doubles mula sa kanilang 21-19, 21-15 tagumpay sa event na inorganisa nina Vice Pre­sident Jejomar Binay, Rep. Albee Benitez at businessman-sportsman Manny V. Pangilinan.

Ang nasabing dalawang panalo ang nagbigay kina Castilo at Magno ng premyong P90,000, kasama na rito ang P70,000 sa Open category ng weeklong tournament na suportado ng official equipment sponsor Victor.

Nakabangon sina Castilo at Magno, tinalo sina Cheska Bermejo at Rosalee Soberano para sa Open crown noong Marso, ang kanilang pagkulapso sa second set upang biguin ang tangkang ikatlong titulo ni Alcala sa second leg ng four-stage ranking circuit.

Nauna nang kinuha ni Alcala ang Open singles crown mula sa kanyang 15-21, 21-19, 21-10 panalo kay Castilo bago nakipagtambal kay Ronel Estanislao upang talunin sina Paul Vivas at Ana Patricia Barredo, 21-18, 21-12, para sa mixed doubles plum sa Open division na itinataguyod ng PLDT-Smart Foundation, Gatorade at Powersmash katuwang ang The Philippine STAR, TV5, Badminton Extreme Philippines Magazine, Jam 88.3, Wave 89.1, Magic 89.9, 99.5 RT at 103.5 WOW! bilang media partners.
