Homegrown bets sa Smart/HEAD netfest

MANILA, Philippines - Ginamit ng local pla­yers na sina Sally Mae Siso at Fritz Satera ang ka­nilang hometown edge na­ng kapwa mangibabaw sa fourth leg ng Smart pre­sents HEAD Age-Group Na­tional Tennis Tour 2011 Ju­nior Satellite Circuit sa Ce­bu Country Club sa Ce­bu City.

Sumandal sa pamatay na backhand strokes ang 17-anyos at top seed na si Siso para gibain si second seed Aira Mae Putiz, 10-2, tungo sa pagkubra ng girls’ 18-below title ng torneong suportado ng Chris Sports, Meralco, Maynilad, Head, the official ball, at ng Toalson.

“I’m so thankful to Smart Sports and Head for ma­king this competition yearly. It helps to become tough enough,” kuwento ni Siso, target naman ngayon ang gold medal sa darating na Palarong Pambansa sa Dapitan sa Mayo 8. 

“I want to win a gold this year since this will be my last in Palaro.”

Isa si Siso sa mga batang tennis players na na­bibigyan ng magandang break sa Smart Sports/Head junior tennis prog­ram, na nasa ika-13 taon na ng pagde-develop ng mga talento na maaaring ma­ging pambato ng bansa sa mga future international tennis tourney.

Ang ilan sa mga na­ging produkto ng torneo ay si­na Je­son Patrombon at Ma­rinel Rudas.
