Bagong istilo kailangang paganahin ng Azkals para talunin ang Mongolia
MANILA, Philippines - Inaasahan ni dating national football coach Aris Caslib na tatalunin ng Philippine men’s football team na Azkals ang Blue Wolve ng Mongolia sa kanilang rematch sa Challenge Cup home-and-away qualifying series sa Ulan Bator ngayon.
Ayon kay Caslib, dapat gumawa ng adjustments ang Azkals sa kanilang istilo ng paglalaro.
“When we break away, we can’t just go to the left or right because as Mongolia showed in Bacolod, they can manage us from either side,” ani Caslib. Nakadalo na si Caslib sa mga coaching seminars sa Mongolia at pamilyar na siya sa kondisyon ng national stadium nito.
“The venue isn’t very big and can accommodate only up to 2,500,” ani pa ni Caslib. “My main worry is the climate but I think we’re prepared to play in cold weather. Our Fil-foreigners are used to the cold but our locals like Chieffy (Caligdong) and Ian must cope. I know Chieffy and Ian will step up. The training in Baguio and Japan should be sufficient to get the team used to the weather.”
Ang hindi paglalaro nina goalkeeper Neil Etheridge at defender Rob Gier ang maaaring makaapekto sa Azkals.
Si Eduard Sacapano ang pansamantalang papalit kay Etheridge.
“I think Sacapano will do fine,” wika ni Caslib. “When we played in the 2006 Challenge Cup in Bangladesh, he was our goalkeeper and did okay. We drew twice and lost only once. That was his first time in international competition. We had a goalkeeping coach counselling him during the tournament.
