Lim broze sa Asian Championships

MANILA, Philippines - Bagamat inihinto ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) ang monthly allowances ng kanilang 14 national riders at 4 head coaches, kumuha pa rin ng karangalan ang PhilCycling para sa bansa.

Inangkin ng bagitong si Rustom Lim ang Men’s Junior bronze medal sa road race ng 8th Asian Youth Cy­cling Championships sa Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.

Nagtala si Lim ng Guimba, Nueva Ecija ng tiyempong tatlong oras, isang minuto at 45 segundo sa li­kod nina gold medal winner Wong Hong ng South Korea at Wong Pi Sien ng Hong Kong sa event para sa 18-under riders mula sa Asya.

Si Lim ang nagbigay sa bansa ng unang medal nito sa isang Asian-level competition matapos ang tansong medalya ng retirado nang si Victor Espiritu sa Men’s Elite ng road race sa 1998 Bangkok Asian Games.

At alam ng mga miyem­bro ng Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) at ng Union Cycliste Internatio­nale (UCI) ang suliranin ng PhilCycling.

Si Lim walang nakuhang suporta mula kay PSC chairman Richie Garcia.
