Coach Norman igigiya ang PHL Team sa gold sa 2011 SEAG

MANILA, Philippines - Sa kanyang pagbabalik sa national team, hangad ni Ateneo De Manila University head coach Norman Black na maibigay sa Pilipinas ang pang siyam nitong basketball crown sa Southeast Asian Games.

Si Black ang inatasan ng Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) na gumiya sa national squad para sa darating na 26th Southeast Asian Games sa Palembang, Indonesia sa Nobyembre 11.

“We’re looking for new and young collegiate pla­yers to complete the team and we’re opening the tryouts to everyone to see if there are some new faces,” wika ni Black, kasaluku­yang team consultant ng Talk ‘N Text sa PBA.

Kasama si Frankie Lim ng San Beda College, ginawaran si Black ng Coach of the Year sa Collegiate Basketball Awards kamakalawa sa Gateway Suites sa Cubao, Quezon City.

Si Black, dating PBA Best Import awardee, ang humawak sa isang all-pro national squad sa 1994 Asian Games sa Hiroshima, Japan na tumapos bilang fourth-placer.

Maliban sa national team, asam rin ni Black na maibigay sa Blue Eagles ang pang apat nitong UAAP title sa 74th season sa Hulyo.
