Paglalabanan nina Donaire at Sidorenko (22-2-2, 7 KO’s) ang World Boxing Association (WBA) interim bantamweight title.
Sakaling manalo si Donaire kay Sidorenko, itatakda ni Bob Arum ng Top Rank Promotions ang kanilang unification fight ni World Boxing Council (WBC) at World Boxing Organization (WBO) bantamweight king Fernando “Cochulito” Montiel ng Mexico sa Pebrero 19, 2011.
Ang tubong Talibon, Bohol na si Donaire ay nagkampeon sa flyweight division ng International Boxing Federation (IBF) at International Boxing Organization (IBO) matapos patulugin ang dating haring si Vic Darchinyan via fifth-round KO noong Hulyo ng 2007.
Si Sidorenko naman ay dating WBA bantamweight champion.
