GUANZSHOU, China - Pormal nang itinaas ang Philippine flag sa Pearl River kahapon sa Asian Games Athletes’ Village.
Pinamunuan ni Chef de mission Joey Romasanta ang mga opisyales at ilang atleta mula sa chess, cycling at wushu sa nasabing flag raising rites.
Ayopn kay Romsanta, handang-handa na ang mga atleta para sumabak sa 28 sports events ng 16th Asian Games.
“We (the POC and PSC) have prepared a lot for the Games, we leave it up to our athletes to compete well and enjoy the games,” wika ni Romasanta.
Magsisimula ang naturang 15-day meet bukas matapos ang parada ngayong araw.
Nasa seremonya rin sina Philippine Sports Commissioner Chito Loyzaga, deputy chef de mission Benjamin Espiritu, POC treasurer at wushu secretary general Julian Camacho at POC administrative officer Moying Martelino.
Ang mga chess players ay sina Wesley So, Eugene Torre at Joey Antonio.
