Muntinlupa paborito sa korona vs Pasig

MANILA, Philippines - Nasa likod ng Muntinlupa ang ‘hometown crowd’ sa kani-lang pakikipagharap sa Pasig para sa korona ng 1st Coca-Cola Hoopla ngayong alas-6 ng gabi sa Muntinlupa Sports Center.

Tinalo ng Muntinlupa ang Pasig, 84-81, at 86-76, sa two-round inter-zonal stage patungo sa winner-take-all match.

Ang magkakampeon ang tatangap ng cash prize na P250,000, habang ang runner-up ay kukuha ng P125,000. Nauna nang naibulsa ng Caloocan ang P75,000 bilang third-placer, samantalang naging fourth-placer naman ang Makati para sa kanilang P50,000.

Nakuha ng Muntinlupa ang ‘homecourt advantage’ nang manalo noong Miyerkules sa Pasig Sports Complex.

“Sana manood si Mayor Aldrin San Pedro to inspire the players who are aiming to become the first team to win the 18-and –under tournament. He is a certified basketball buff,” ani veteran coach at league commissioner Joe Lipa.

Ang title showdown ay ina-asahan ring dadaluhan ni Coca-Cola PBA governor JB Baylon.

 Muling pamumunuan ni ace gunner Kevin Racal ang Muntinlupa katuwang sina Piper Tan, Karl Salvador, Kevin Buenaflor at Avib Minoc.

Sa kabila ng bentahe ng Muntinlupa, kumpiyansa pa rin si Pasig coach Edward Medina sa kanilang tsansa.
