3 gold sa UP tanker

MANILA, Philippines - Kasabay ng mainit na panahon, umagaw ng eksena ang isang Lady Maroon ng University of the Philippines sa swimming pool.

Tatlong gintong medalya ang nilangoy ni Carla Grabador para sa National Capital region sa women’s swimming event ng 2010 CHED National Games kahapon sa Rizal Memorial Swimming Center.

Pinagreynahan ng 18-anyos na UP Dilimman Public Administration freshman ang mga labanan sa women’s 200-meter freestyle at 200-meter butterfly at nakasama sa pamamahala sa 400-meter freestyle relay.

“Hindi ko inaasahan na mananalo ako, kasi we hardly had time for practice for this meet,” sabi ng nakababatang kapatid ng national water polo player na si Ivan Grabador.

Dalawang gold medal naman ang idinagdag ni Ma. Claire Adorna sa NCR mula sa kanyang mga panalo sa women’s 400-meter individual medley at 50-meter freestyle events.

Isang gintong medalya ang idinagdag ni San Beda swimming ace Ferdinand Frigillana, nagdomina sa pitong events ng 2009 PRISAA National Games, mula sa men’s 400-meter individual medley

Ang iba pang gold medal winners ng NCR ay sina John Simora (men’s 100-meter breaststroke), Neale Bangale (men’s 200-meter butterfly), Jeron Mercader (men’s 100-meter backstroke), Jacklyn Juinio (women’s 100-meter backstroke) at Ronald Allan Guiriba (men’s 50-meter freestyle).

Ang grupo rin nina Mercader, Simora, McGyver Reyes at Teohdy Gavino ang naghari sa men’s 200-meter relay para sa 12-of-16 gold medals ng Big City tankers. (Russell Cadayona)
