Lady Sharks kampeon sa NAASCU women's volley

MANILA, Philippines - Naging maningning ang kampanya ng Lyceum Subic Bay sa season na ito matapos sikwatin ang National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (NAASCU) women’s volleyball title sa UM gym sa Sampaloc, Manila.

Sa pangunguna nina Pearl Mamaril, Rosemarie Laodenio at Mae San Jose, pinabagsak ng Lyceum of Subic Bay ang pre-tournament favorite San Sebastian College-Cavite, 25-19, 25-15, 22-25, 25-20 sa kanilang winner-take-all championship showdown.

Winalis ng Subic-Bay-based Lady Sharks ang unang da­lawang sets, bago nadiskaril sa third set, ngunit agad ding naka­bangon at pinayuko ng tropa ni coach Chris Dumasig ang Lady Baycats sa dikitang four-set na labanan.

Bunga ng panalong ito ng Lady Sharks, tinanghal si Mamaril na Most Valuable Player (MVP) habang si Laodenio ang siyang top blocker sa ligang inorganisa ni NAASCU president Dr. Jay Adalem ng host school St. Clare College-Caloocan.

Sa men’s division, pinadapa ng University of Manila ang St. Clare College-Caloocan, 25-22, 25-18, 25-15, habang nasilat ng SSC-Cavite ang centro Escolar University, 22-25, 25-11, 30-28, 25-17 upang isaayos ang kanilang titular showdown.
