Jr. NBA RP team sinuportahan ng Pinoy community sa New Jersey
MANILA, Philippines - Solido ang suporta ng Filipino community sa Jr.NBA Philippines Team nang maglaro ang Fantastic Six kontra sa Jr. NBA New Jersey All-stars sa Nets Center.
Kabilang sina dating PBA players Anthony Mendoza at Abet Guidaben, na pawang nakabase sa New Jersey, maging ang mga magulang at kamag-anak ng mga batang cagers sa pagbibigay ng suporta sa team bagamat yumuko ang mga batang Pinoy sa New Jersey All-Stars, 71-44.
“I liked that they weren’t fazed by the taller, heftier competition. They held their own and we were playing a good game throughout the first three quarters. It was just that they got tired,” ani US Jr. NBA coach Frank Lopez.
Sinabi naman ni Jr. Philippines NBA coach Elmer Cabahug na hindi nagkulang ng talento at suwerte ang mga batang Pinoy.
“They were adjusting to the cold and were quite unfamiliar with the shorter, eight-minute quarters. It was also difficult to rotate them since we only had six men on the team,” ani Cabahug.
Manalo man o matalo, malugod na binati sa mga kalsada ng New York ng mga tao, na ilan dito ay pawang mga kababayang Pinoy.
