National Open trackfest muling tatakbo

Matapos mawala ng isang taon, wala naag makapipigil sa pagdaraos ng Milo National Open track and field championships sa Rizal Memorial Track Oval na ayon kay PATAFA president Go Teng Kok ay magiging basehan ng ipapadala sa  Beijing Olympics sa darating na Agosto.

Mahigit 100 foreign athletes na kumakatawan ng 10 bansa ang inaasahang makikibahagi sa kompetisyong ito na kinabibilangan ng Asian power Korea at ang mga perennial region heavyweights Thailand at Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Japan at China na magbibigay ng mahigpit na hamon sa mga local bets.

Dahil sa kawalan ng pondo, ipinagpaliban ang pagtatanghal ng torneong ito. Problema pa rin ang pera ngunit sa pagkakataong ito ayon kay GTK, gagawin niya ang lahat matuloy lamang ang torneo.

“It’s not easy to host an event featuring more than 100 foreign athletes, that’s why despite the financial difficulties, we’re trying hard to meet both ends,” ani Go na panauhin sa PSA Forum na ginaganap sa Shakey’s U.N. Avenue branch na suportado ng Shakey’s, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), Accel, Brickroad gym, Aspen spa at MedCentral Medical Clinics and Diagnostic Center.
