P4.8M incentives ipinamahagi ng PSC

Kabuuang P4,851,227.83 ang ipinamahagi ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) kahapon para sa mga national coaches na gumiya sa kani-kanilang atleta sa pag-uwi ng gold, silver at bronze medal sa nakaraang 24th Southeast Asian Games sa Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.

“We extremely apologize for this delay. But this does not absolve us of the mandate and responsibility for providing the incentives as called for under the law,” ani PSC chairman William “Butch” Ramirez.

Sa mga national mentors, si Ricardo Ancaja ng billiards and snooker ang nakatanggap ng pinakamalaking insentibo buhat sa nakolekta niyang P135,000 matapos tumumbok ng kabuuang 3 gold, 2 silver at 4 bronze medals ang kanyang mga atleta.

Maliban kay Ancaja, ang iba pang coaches na nakaku-ha ng malaking cash incentives ay sina Walter Torres at Vene-rando Garcia ng fencing para sa kanilang tig-P128,750 at sina Carlos Brosas, Jeff Pop-pel, Jason Calanog, Andy Astfalck at Archimedes Lim ng swimming at diving para sa kanilang tig-P84,997.58.

Ang Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) ang siyang mag-popondo para sa cash incentives ng mga national coaches sa ilalim ng Section 10 ng Republic Act No. 9064.  

“While the PSC has prepared the caoches’ checks for release, PAGCOR chairman Efraim Genuino and Mr. Dodie King has guaranteed us that the funds will be available and in fact will be remitted also today,” ani Ramirez. (Russell Cadayona)
