Parehas na officiating asam ng ABAP

Isang pantay na officiating sa hanay ng mga Filipino at Thai fighters para sa Olympic qualifying event sa Bangkok sa Enero 24.

Ito ang inaasahan ni Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines (ABAP) president Manny T. Lopez matapos tanggapin ni  Amateur Boxing Association of Thailand (ABAT) head Gen. Thaweep Jantharoj ang lahok ng una bilang pagsunod sa kautusan ng AIBA, ang international boxing federation.

Ayon kay Lopez, nakatuon ang mata ng buong mundo sa Thailand sa nasabing Olympic qualifying meet matapos ang kontrobersyal na panalo ng mga Thai boxers sa mga Pinoy pugs sa nakaraang 24th Southeast Asian Games sa Nakhon Ratchasima noong Disyembre.

 “Sa tingin ko naman hindi mangyayari ‘yung ganoon. Although they will be the host, they will be priviliged in one way or the other katulad sa mga crowd, sa pagkain. Pero pagdating sa officiating, sa tingin ko hindi mangyayari ‘yon,” ani Lopez.

Sa naunang kautusan ni AIBA executive director Ho Kim, tinanggap ni Thaweep ang late entries ng ABAP.

 “Will send a letter to Philippines to accept the team to come to Thailand. It’s no problem. I know everything about boxing in the past. It’s not good for us -- the Filipino and Thai people -- because when we compete it’s good for boxing,” anang ABAT chief. (RC)
