Hindi makakatulong sa makulay na boxing career ni Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao ang pagkakadawit sa mga kontrobersya.
Sa isang larawan sa broadsheet, nakita ang 29-anyos na si Pacquiao na may kasayaw at kayakap na babae taliwas sa gusto ni American trainer Freddie Roach na simulan ng maaga ang preparasyon para sa rematch kay Mexican world super featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez.
Lubha itong makaka-apekto kay Pacquiao, ayon sa isa ring tubong General Santos City na si Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire, Jr.
“I don’t know how he trains right now but from the last fight he looks like winded and for this fight, Marquez already started working on it and I don’t think he (Pacquiao) really started training yet,” sabi ni Donaire, ang International Boxing Federation (IBF) at International Boxing Organization (IBO) flyweight titlist. “So that’s one thing that might affect him.”
Itinakda ang rematch nina Pacquiao at Marquez, ang kasalukuyang hari sa World Boxing Council (WBC) super featherweight division, sa Marso 15 sa Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino sa Las Vegas, Nevada.
Kumpara sa pagdiriwang ni Pacquiao, ang WBC International titlist, ng Kapaskuhan, inumpisahan naman ng 34-anyos na si Marquez ang kanyang paghahanda sa Romanza Boxing Gym sa Mexico City.
“One thing about Manny that I don’t worry about is that he really trains hard. I’ve never seen anybody train as hard as him. But a lot of things has been going through and that might really affect on how he trains,” wika ni Donaire.
Kaugnay sa Pacquiao-Marquez II, isinasama naman sa undercard si World Boxing Organization (WBO) superfeatherweight king Joan Guzman ng Dominican Republic laban kay challenger Alex Arthur ng United Kingdom.
Isa si Guzman sa mga naunang inilalaban kay Pacquiao matapos talunin si dating WBC ruler Marco Antonio Barrera sa kanilang rematch noong Oktubre 6. (Russell Cadayona)
