P11M kokolektahin ng PSC sa BoC

Karagdagang pondo para sa Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).

Nakatakdang kolektahin ng PSC ang P11 milyon na remittances mula sa Bureau of Customs (BoC) na nakasaad sa ilalim ng Republic Act 6847.

Sa naturang RA 6847, ipinag-uutos sa BoC na magbigay sa sports commission ng tatlong porsiyento ng mga nakolektang buwis mula sa importasyon ng sports equipment.

Ayon kay PSC Commissioner Ambrosio de Luna, ang naturang P11 milyon ay nakatakda nilang matanggap buhat sa customs ngayong Enero.

“The PSC is just going after what is due the agency. And with the full cooperation of the Bureau of Customs under Commissioner Napoleon Morales, the PSC will receive the P11 million representing past remittances,” ani De Luna kahapon.

Ang nasabing pondo ay hindi nakolekta ng PSC sa BoC mula noong 1997 hanggang 2001. Bukod pa ito sa remittances noong 1990 hanggang 1996, dagdag ni De Luna.

Maliban sa BoC, ang iba pang ahensya na dapat makatanggap ng remittances ang PSC ay ang Philippine Amusements and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR), Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) at Philippine Racing Commission (Philracom).

“Every sports equipment being imported and declared as otherwise means losses in taxes and losses in remittances to the PSC,” ani De Luna. (Russell Cadayona)
