Quezon City tumatag sa liderato

Humataw  ang Quezon City sa karatedo at table tennis upang pahigpitin ang kanilang kapit sa overall lead patungo sa huling dalawang araw ng kompetisyon ng National Capital Region Qualifying Games ng 2nd Philippine Olympic Festival sa Rizal Sports Complex.

Nagsubi ang QC bets ng apat na ginto sa kata event ng karatedo sa Rizal Memorial Coliseum at isa sa table tennis sa Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Pinangunahan ni Chloe Adrianne Villasis ang panana-lasa ng Quezon City sa kara-tedo sa kanyang tagumpay sa 8-9 years old division na si-nundan ng panalo nina Joyce Ann del Ayre (10-11), Elsha Bertillo (12-13) at Raquel Luza-ras (14-15).

Bunga nito, ang Quezon City ay mayroon nang 37-gold, 24-silver, 19-bronze medal upang maging matatag sa liderato kasunod ang Manila na may 26-21-28, Pasig na may 20-4-4 sa five-day event na sponsored ng Philippine Sports Commission, Globe, the Philippine STAR, Accel, Asia Brewery, AMA Computer College, Negros Navigation at Creativity Lounge.

Nasa top 10 ang Las Piñas (9-25-10), Taguig (5-5-8), Makati (4-7-4), Parañaque (3-11-9), Valen-zuela (2-6-1), Marikina (2-1-3) at San Juan (1-6-9).(Joey Villar)
