"Ito na ‘yon talagang main event natin for this year," wika ni Fernandez. "Nagtapos tayo last year sa Southeast Asian Games and this year magtatapos naman tayo sa Asian Games."

"We are going for at least one gold medal dahil wala pa talaga tayong napapanalong gold medal sa Asian Games after some silver medals," ani Fernandez sa hangad ng mga jins sa 2006 Doha Asiad.

Muling aasahan ng Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) sina lightweight Donald David Geisler, bantamweight Tshomlee Go, finweight Japoy Lizardo, lightweight Toni Rivero at featherweight Elaine Alora.

"This will also be a showcase on what will happen sa darating na 2008 Olympic Games. But of course, we are all going to give our best at pagbubutihin namin para maiangat ang Pilipinas," wika ni Fernandez. (RCadayona)
