Officiating sa UAAP babantayan

Ang officiating ang pangunahing pagtutuunan ng pansin ng bagong commissioner ng University of Athletics Association of the Phillipines na si Elmer Yanga.

Ito ang pahayag ng dating RFM Corporation official sa lingguhang PSA Forum kung saan naging panauhin ito kahapon sa main function room ng Pantalan restaurant sa Manila kasama sina Luz Sta. Ana at Bren Perez ng host school na University of the East, at deputy commissioner Ato Badolato.

"That’s my mandate. And we will do our best to see to it that there is fair and just officiating during the games," ani Yanga sa PSA Forum sa Pantalan Restaurant sa Manila.

Sinabi naman ni Sta. Ana  na siyang board president ng liga na titiyakin niyang walang magiging kontrobersiya sa nalalapit na pagbubukas ng UAAP season tulad ng nangyaring eskandalo sa La Salle na sinuspinde ng UAAP board sa taong ito kaya’t pitong school members lamang ang maglalaban-laban para sa 69th season.

"I have already advised the different school registrars to authenticate the records of all their student athletes. That is their duty. And if they do that, we’ll have no problem," ani Sta. Ana.

Bubuksan ng UE Red Warriors at Adamson University ang 2006 season ng UAAP kasunod ang sagupaan ng National University at Ateneo de Manila University habang sa July 9 ay maghaharap naman ang University of Sto Tumas at University of the Philippines.Ang lahat ng elimination round matches ay gaganapin sa Rizal Memorial Coliseum at Ninoy Aquino Stadium at magkakaroon din ng laro sa Cuneta Astrodome.
