Kapwa umiskor ng panalo sina rising stars Albert Pabila at Olympic hopeful Joan Tipon sa kani-kanilang division sa Australian Tri-Nation boxing championship sa Melbourne.
Binugbog ni Pabila si Romesh Fernando ng Australia sa lightflyweight division habang nagpamalas naman ng impresibong panalo si Tipon, best boxer sa Asian championships at gold medalist sa 23rd SEA Games, nang demolisahin nito si Nathan de Carlo, 32-20.
The results were good signs for our coming international campaigns leading to Doha Asian Games, ani Manny T. Lopez, presidente ng Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines. Our preparations are gaining momentum.
Ayon kay National coach Elmer Pamisa na kasama ng RP boxing team sa naturang slugfest na nilahukan din ng Croatia, na paborito sina Tipon at Pabila dahil sa mahusay nilang performance.
