Subalit hindi lamang ang programa ang mahalaga, ayon kay Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Jose "Peping" Cojuangco, Jr.
"There have been many suggestions already. Many experts have come up with their ideas on how we should handle sports but the best is unity," wika ni Cojuangco. "Only through with this that we can achieve the best for the country."
Sa isang seremonya sa Malacañang, ipinanukala ni Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo sa POC at sa Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) na tumutuok lamang sa 10 sports para sa 2006 Asian Games at sa 2008 Olympic Games.
Ang ipinakita naman ng mga atleta sa nakaraang 23rd Southeast Asian Games ang dapat maging basehan ng suporta, opinyon ni National Training Director Mike Keon.
Ayon kay Cojuangco, inaasahan niyang magpapakita ng maganda ang mga wushu artists sa 2006 Asian Games.
"Wushu is one sports that we should request to do double-time in our effort to perform well in Doha. We are expecting much from them," ani Cojuangco.
Sa nakaraang 2005 SEA Games, humakot ang mga Filipino wushu artists ng kabuuang 11 gold, 5 silver at 3 bronze medals para kilalaning overall champion sa nasabing sports event. (Russell Cadayona)
