45-golds nakataya sa athletics

Dahil sa athletics nakataya ang pinakamaraming gintong medalya kung saan 45 sa  439 gold medals  ang paglalabanan, inaasahang hahakot ang 54-man athletics team  sa 23rd Southeast Asian Games na pormal na magsisimula ngayon sa Quirino Grand Stand sa Luneta.

Pangungunahan ng mga  SEA Games gold medalists  na sina Lerma Bulauitan-Gabito, Maristella Torres, Eduardo Buenavista, Rene Herrera, Jobert Delicano at ang beteranong si Elma Muros-Posadas.

Kasunod ng athletics na gaganapin sa Rizal Memorial Track Oval, ang susunod na medal rich event ay ang swimming competition na gaganapin sa Trace College Aquatics Center sa Los Baños, Laguna kung saan 32 golds ang nakataya.

Ang ikatlong pinakamaraming golds na nakataya ay sa shooting na gaganapin sa PSC-PNSA Shooting Range (Air pistol & rifle at Practical) at PNSA Clay Target Range sa Muntinlupa City (trap at skeet) na may 25 golds.

Mayroon namang 24-gold medals ang nakataya sa gymnastics competition na gaganapin sa Rizal Memorial Coliseum habang ang wushu event na gaganapin sa Emilio Aguinaldo College sa Taft Avenue ay may 22-golds.

 Sa kabuuang 40 sport na kabilang sa calendar of events, marami ring gold ang nakataya sa karatedo (18), pencak silat (17), judo (16), taekwondo (16), billiars and snookers (14), boxing (14), wrestling 12, bailing (12), cycling (12), weightlifting (10), diving (10) at bowling (10).
