$300 bayad sa mga local at foreign technical officials sa SEA Games

Mula $30 hanggang $300 kada araw na suweldo ang ilalatag ng Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHILSOC) para sa local at foreign technical officials sa nalalapit na 23rd SEA Games sa Nobyembre 27 hanggang Disyembre 5.

Ayon kay PHILSOC Sports Operations chairman Richie Garcia, iba ang magiging bayad kay Prof. Anwar Chowdry, ang kontrobersyal na pangulo ng International Amateur Boxing Federation (AIBA).

Si Chowdry, ilang beses nang nakondena ng ilang bansa dahilan sa kanyang manipulasyon sa boxing event sa Olympic Games, Asian Games at SEA Games, ay tatanggap ng mula $500 hanggang $1,000 honorarium bilang International Federation working delegate sa 2005 SEA Games.

Maliban sa honorarium, ang PHILSOC rin ang magbabayad sa hotel, food at service vehicles ng mga IF delegates sa nasabing 10-day event.

Naghanay na ang PHILSOC ng pondong P100 milyon para sa pagpapatakbo ng 2005 SEA Games kung saan kabuuang 441 events mula sa 41 sports ang ikakalat sa Metro Manila, Bacolod City, Cebu City at Subic.

"It’s really that expensive to host the SEA Games. Some people may ask why need such a big amount to run the Games. If they will know, they will be surprise," sabi kahapon ni Garcia.

Sinabi ni Garcia na ang P100 milyon ay gagastusin para sa mga foreign judges, referees, line umpires, computer programmers, sound system technicians at ballboys.

Ang mga European at American judges ang siyang mangangasiwa sa boxing, archery, equestrian, cycling, gymnastics, dancesport at aerobics. (Russell Cadayona)
