Laborte-Tabuena pair paborito sa finals ng Petron beach volley

Bilang finale ng 2005 season ng Petron Ladies beach volleyball tournament, gaganapin ang grand finals sa Oct. 1-2 sa Manila Baywalk.

Ang two-day finals ay titipon ng mga champions at runner-ups ng unang tatlong legs ng torneo na nasa ikatlong taon na ngayon sa tulong ng sponsor na Petron, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, PAGCOR, Toyota Pasong Tamo, Villa de Oro, ACSAT, Speedo (official outfitter) at Mikasa (official ball).

Ang pares nina Michelle Laborte at Cecille Tabuena ng Philippine Navy, na grand champion noong nakaraang taon at winner ng second leg sa taong ito ang team-to-beat sa fourth at final leg na ito.

"Kakayanin namin na manalo ulit. We’ve trained enough for this, although bilog ang bola," wika ng 25-gulang na si Laborte sa PSA Forum kahapon sa main function room sa Pantalan Restaurant sa Manila.

Dumalo rin ang event organizer na si Tisha Abundo, ACSAT vice president at athletic director Raoul Sia kasama ang mga players na sina Tabuena, Sheryl Laborte at Rolyn Marquicias (third leg winner).

"We divided the 10 teams into two groups. The top two teams in each group will advance in the crossover semifinals to determine the two finalists," ani Abundo, dating PSC Commissioner.
