"We’re always opti-mistic that we have that chance to complete a sweep of all the 16 gold medals at stake," ani RP taekwondo team coach Stephen Fernandez na sumegunda sa malaking tiwala ni Philippine Taek-wondo Association (PTA) president Robert Aventa-jado na makukuha ng mga Filipino jins ang lahat ng 16-golds sa Nov. 27-Dec. 5 biennial meet.

Ang men’s team ay binubuo nina Athens Olympics veteran Tshom-lee Go (bantamweight), Donald Geisler (light-weight), Michael Alejan-drino (heavyweight), Dax Morfe (middleweight), Alex Briones (welter-weight), JR Rivero/Brix Ramos (featherweight), Jeffrey Figueroa (fly-weight) at John Paul Lizardo/Carlos Padilla (finweight).
