SEAG womens football wala pang paglalaruan

Halos tatlong buwan bago ang 23rd Southeast Asian Games, wala pa ring opisyal na venue ang womens football competition.
Sinabi kahapon ni Philippine Football Federation (PFF) president Johnny Romualdez na wala pa ring katiyakan kung aaprubahan ng Asian Football Confe-deration (AFC) ang ginagawang pagpapalapad ng Marikina City sa kanilang football field.
"If we have our own way gusto talaga namin sa Marikina City gawin ang womens football event. But we cannot have our own way if the AFC will not allow us," ani Romualdez.
Hindi inayunan ng isang AFC official ang football field ng Marikina City dahilan sa teknikalidad.
"Hindi daw sila (AFC) sigurado kung puwede yung gagawin ng Marikina in widening the football field," sabi ni Romualdez. "So we have to look for other venues before October."
Ang tinutukoy ni Romualdez na opsyon ay ang ULTRA sa PhilSports Complex sa Pasig City at ang Iloilo City Sports Complex.
Handa ang PFF na gastusan ang anumang kaila-ngang gawin sa ULTRA para lamang matuloy ang womens competition kumpara sa mens event na idaraos sa Paglaum Stadium sa Bacolod City.
"We have to understand that most of our women players comes from Metro Manila. They will be more at home if they will play in Metro Manila," sabi ni Romualdez ukol sa tinatarget niyang Marikina City football field. (Ulat ni Russell Cadayona)
