Yumuko sa kanilang kalabang Sri Lankan sina light flyweight Josie Gabuco, flyweight Junel Cantancio, bantamweight Rolando Magbanua Jr., featherweight Francis Cutamora at lightweight Genebert Basadre.

"It was quite a good result. The Sri Lankans have made tremendous improvements under their Cuban coaches and the mere fact that five of our national pool members lost to them is an indi-cation that the (Sri Lankans) are steadily improving," obserba ni Amateur Boxing Asso-ciation of the Philippines (ABAP) president Manny T. Lopez

Ang biyahe ng 10-person squad na iginigiya nina coach Roberto Jal-naiz at Roel Velasco kasama sina Felix "Boogie" Apostadero bilang delegation head at Darcito Teodoro bilang referee/judge, ay naging posible sa tulong ng Ginebra San Miguel,First Gentleman Foundation, PSC, Accel at Pacific Heights.
