Golden Tour tuloy na

Pareho pa rin ng karangalan at hamon ang nababalot sa maalamat na Tour sa pagtatanghal ng "Golden Tour 50 at 05" isang 10-stage cycling marathon na tatakbo sa Mayo 26 hanggang Hunyo 5.

Nabibilang din sa Golden Tour ang ruta na gagamitin sa individual time trial event ng 23rd Southeast Asian Games sa Tagaytay City ngayong Nobyembre, at ang Baguio-to-Baguio na trademark ng karera na nasa ika-50th taon na ngayon.

Inihayag ni Reuben Pangan, pinuno ng Dynamic Outsource Solution, Inc (DOS-I), pangunahing organizer ng Golden Tour ang lahat ng ruta at hamon ng maalamat na karera ang masasaksihan sa Golden race.

"The organizers of the Golden Tour are confident that the 50th edition of the multi-stage cycling spectacle will live up to the high expectations of the previous staging of the Tour," ani Pangan. "The Tour is the Tour and in celebration of its golden anniversary, we are prompted to continue a certified tradition in Philippine (sports) culture."

Kasama ni Pangan sa organizing committee si Cebu Waterfront Hotel president at T&G Tourism and Development Corp. head Patrick Gregorio para sa turismo at marketing aspect ng organisasyon at Marlito Mendoza ng PhilCycling sec-general, technical at race management aspect.

Ang pinal na ruta na pinal na bibisitahin sa susunod na linggo ay: Stage 1 May 26-Quezon City - Lucena City (massed start o MS), Stage 2 May 27-Lucena City - Tagaytay City (MS), Stage 3 May 28-Nasugbu - Tagaytay (Sea Games ITT route), Stage 4 May 29-Marikina - Olongapo (MS), Stage 5 May 30-Olongapo - Dagupan (MS), May 31 rest day, Stage 6 June 1-Dagupan - Cabanatuan (MS), Stage 7 June 2-Cabanatuan - Baguio (MS), Stage 8 June 3-Baguio - Baguio (MS), Stage 9 June 4-Baguio to Angeles City (MS) at Stage 10 June 5-Manila Criterium (Luneta Circuit).
