Pagka-pangulo ni Lina,kinilala ng POC

Opisyal ng kinilala ng Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) ang pagka-pangulo ni Air21 chairman Bert Lina at binigyan na rin nila ng rekognisyon ang Integrated Cycling Federation of the Philippines (ICFP) bilang national association ng nasabing palakasan.

Ang paglilipat ng rekognisyon mula sa Philippine Amateur Cycling Association (PACA) sa ICFP ang siyang magdadala ng monicker na PhilCycling na ipinormalisa sa isang liham ni POC secretary general Romeo Ribano na ipinadala naman kay Lina noong nakaraang Miyerkules.

"We are happy to advice you that the executive board of the POC, during it’s meeting held on October 16, 2003 has approved the transfer of recognition to the ICFP from the PACA," ani Ribano sa kanyang liham. Ipinadala rin ng POC noong Miyerkules ang opisyal na komunikasyon mula kay Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) president Hem Verruggen na ipinaalam sa kanya ang tungkol sa paglilipat ng rekog-nisyon mula sa PhilCycling.

Si Lina at ang PhilCycling board ay nagdaos ng elections noong nakaraang buwan na sinaksihan ni Asian Cycling Conferederation president at UCI management committee member Dato’ Seri G. Darshan Singh ng Malaysia at POC president Celso Dayrit. At siya ay itinalagang president by acclamation sa naturang organizational meeting makaraan ang elections. Si Lina rin ang chairman ng Tour Pilipinas Inc., na siyang nasa likod ng Air21 FedEx at Mail and More na muling bumuhay sa tanyag na Tour matapos ang apat na taong pagliban nito.

Ang iba pang nailuklok na opisyales ng PhilCycling ay sina Antonio Cruz chairman, Cornelio Padilla Jr., executive vice president, Col. Romeo Modelo vice president for Luzon, Paquito Rivas vice president for Visayas, Jojo Villa vice president for Mindanao, Albert Garcia vice president for the National Capital Region, Arthur Cayabyab treasurer.
