GTK pinuri ng IAFF prexy

Pinuri kahapon ni International Athletics Association Federation president Lamine Diack ang organizing committee sa pagho-host ng 15th Asian Athletic champonships sa Setyembre 20-23 sa Rizal track oval.

Sinabi ni Diack, na muling nahalal sa mataas na posisyon sa world’s governing athletics body noong nakaraang buwan sa Paris, France na siya ay maligaya dahil ang isang bansa gaya ng Philippines ay patuloy na isinasama ang athletics sa kanilang national sports calendar.

"The IAAF has a tremendous commitment to the worldwide development of athletics, and this is an onerous task. Our aim is to create the conditions under which the greatest number of the athletes gain the opportunity to perform to their full potential.

Sinegundahan naman ni IAAF CEO, Shri Suresh Kalmadi, 3As president na siya ay maligaya rin sa muli niyang pagbisita sa Manila simula noong 1993 kung saan idinaos ni PATAFA chief Go Teng Kok ang nasabing tournament sa ikalawang pagkakataon sa Philippine capital city.

"I congratulate PATAFA whose dynamic leadership under Go Teng Kok has brought athletics in the forefront, spreading the movement progressively in Asia.

Ang preparasyon para sa nasabing apat na araw na championships na may suporta mula sa PSC, Department of Tourism, Milo, Adidas, Colgate Palmolive, LG, Microsmith, STI, Café Adriatico at City of Manila ay nasa mataas na antas na.
