Tagumpay ng MY Games naamoy na

Naaamoy na ng organizing Manila Sports Council (MASCO) ang tagumpay ng 2nd Manila Youth (MY) Games bago pa man pormal na magbukas ito sa Linggo.

May 897 barangays sa Manila, maging sa pribado at pampublikong paaralan ang kakatawan sa 2nd MY Games, na idadaos sa makasay-sayang Rizal Memorial Sports complex mula Abril 6 hanggang Abril 13.

"It’s amazing and we expect as very big turnout," ani MASCO chief Arnold ‘Ali’ Atienza, anak ni Manila Mayor Lito Atienza.

Humigit-kumulang sa 8,000 kabataang atleta na may edad 15 taon gulang pababa ang raratsada sa isang linggong palaro, na magsisimula sa pamamagitan ng mala-piyestang opening ceremonies.

Mayroon ding cheering competition, acrobatic shows, skydiving exhibition at fireworks display na tatampukan din ng sayawan at kantahan ang magniningning sa inaugural rites ng MY Games.

Bibigyan ng parangal ang ilang sports heroes na sina yumaong Manila Mayor Arsenio Lacson ng football, Bong Coo ng bowling, at Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski ng equestrian.

Kasama din sina Francisco ‘Kiko’ Calilan at Engracio ‘Boy’ Arazas sa basketball, Teofilo Sta. Rosa sa baseball, Martin Gison sa shooting at grandmaster Joey Antonio.
