Ngunit para sa kanyang kapatid na si Derick, naramdaman niya na nawalan siya ng isang mas malaki kumpara sa pinakamalaking manlalaro ng FedEx.
"We lost his leadership, his experience, his decision-making on the floor. Yes, you can say that we lost practically the backbone of this team," ani Derick sa isang phone interview kahapon. "Thats why I posed a challenge to the team when we first met (for the year)."
"Making up for the loss of Dindo is a big thing to do in this off-season because of the many intangibles that he used to give our team."
Ibinase ni Derick ang mga numero na naitala ni Dindo sa nakaraang taong statistics sheets, ang bilang ay nagsasabi na ang naturang cager ang siyang top local assists man ng liga at ito ang dahilan upang hindi ma-huli ang Express team sa assists category.
"So, if you lose your top guy in assists and your team is last in that department, there is a problem there, dont you think?"
"But hopefully, with our new acquisitions, we will be able to come up with a better performance, because after posting only one win (in the All-Filipino) last year, theres no other way for this team to go but up."
