Under-rates Pinay duo ginulat ang kapwa Pinay

Umiskor ng nakakayanig na panalo ang tambalan ng under-rated Filipino billiards players na sina Nina Angeles at Iris Ranola kahapon upang makapasok sa 9-ball individual singles semifinals ng Philippines-Singapore Women’s Cue Challenge sa Robinson’s Place Manila.

Niyanig ng 18-anyos na si Angeles, 5-foot-4 cue artist mula sa Antipolo City ang top RP women’s player na si Rubilen Amit, 5-3, habang binokya naman ng 22-gulang na si Ranola mula sa Zam-boanga City si Sheila dela Cruz, 5-0 sa quarterfinals.

Tinalo rin nina Ong Chew Hoon at Amy Hoe ng Singapore sa magkahiwalay na laban ang mga Filipino rivals upang umusad rin sa semis ng tourney na ito na presinta ng New Pagcor at Philippine Sports Commission.

Sinilat ni Ong si Magda Say, 5-3, habang ginapi naman ni Hoe si Johanna Dee, 5-3.

Pinayukod ni Asian Games-bound Lee Van Cor-teza ang kapwa niya national player na si Antonio Lining, 7-2 sa isang exhibition match.

Habang sinusulat ang balitang ito, kasalukuyang nakikipaglaban si Ranola kay Ong, rated No. 127 sa women’s players sa daigdig, habang makikipagtunggali naman si Angeles kay Hoe.
