Puspusan ang preparasyon sa Asian Games

Simula sa susunod na linggo, puspusan na ang gagawing preparasyon para sa nalalapit na Asian Games sa Setyembre 29-Oct. 14 sa Busan, South Korea na tatampukan ng full schedule meeting ng mga National Sports Associations (NSAs) at ng pinagsamang Asiad Task Force ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) at ng Philippine Olympic Committee (POC).

Pupulungin nina Task Force Chairman at Chief de Mission Tomas Carrasco at kinatawan mula sa Philippine Center for Sports Medicine (PCSM) at PSC ang mga NSA presidents at secretary generals sa Hulyo 1-5 upang talakayin ang listahan ng official family ng delegasyon ng bansa sa quad-rennial meet.

Kabilang sa mga isyu na ipa-prayoridad sa nasabing pulong ay ang flight schedules ng mga atleta at opisyal, update ng kasalukuyang performance ng atleta, final check sa mga equipment at supplies, technical programs ng mga coaches at opisyal at final round ng physical fitness at pre-participation tests.

"We are gearing towards the second phase of our preparations. We have gone this far with only minor hitches and our calendar fits the athletes’ schedules and NSA programs perfectly. We are looking forward to a worry-free Asiad, we hope to achieve that win the cooperation among the POC, PSC, NSAs and the athletes and coaches," ani Carrasco.

Limang NSAs ang nakatakda para sa consultations sa Task Force sa Hulyo 1, ito’y ang softball, soft tennis, taekwondo, wrestling at wushu.

Nakalinya naman ang judo, karatedo, rowing, sailing at shooting sa Hulyo 2, habang ang canoeing, cycling, fencing, golf at gymnastics ay sa susunod na araw.

At sa Hulyo 4, ang basketball, billiards, bowling at boxing naman ang nakalinya, habang sa susunod na araw ang athletics, swimming, archery at equestrian.
