P1-M ang premyo sa FedEx CALABARZON race

Dahil sa kagustuhang maibuhos ng mga mahuhusay na siklista ng bansa ang kani-kanilang husay at lakas, magbibigay ang Airfreight 2100, ang sole franchisee ng FedEx sa Philippines ng P1M premyo sa inagurasyon ng apat na araw na CALABARZON race FedEx Express Tour sa Mayo 30.

Mag-uuwi ang team champion ng P200,000 at P50,000 naman para sa individual titlist ng event na magsisilbing kickoff ng muling pagbuhay ng annual Tour.

"We are hoping that these cash incentives will be an added boost to the cyclist. More importantly, this will also put them back into preparation because now, they know that they have the FedEx Express Tour to look forward to every summer," ani Bert Lina, chairman ng Airfreight 2100 at generous godfather ng muling pagbuhay ng Tour.

Bukod sa mga tropeo at medalya, inaasahang rin ang P15,000 bilang special pot para sa siklista na makakatugon sa required time at speed marks na ihahayag ng Professional Cyclist Association of the Philippines (PCAP), na kasalukuyan pang tinatalakay.

"Like we said earlier, this endeavor is not just for the sake of reviving the Tour. We want to bring the sport to a higher plane. And what better way to do that than to give our cyclist an incentive to improve on every year by setting marks they will have to meet and giving them a bonus if they meet it," pahayag naman ni Lito Alvarez, Airfreight 2100 president at Tour organizer.

Ang mga premyo sa nasabing apat na araw na karera na suportado rin ng Accel Apparel ay mula 10th placer sa team classification. Ang top 10 sa overall individual classification ay kabilang din sa nasabing premyo.

Mag-uuwi ang second placer sa team category ng P150,000, habang ang third placer ay magbubulsa ng P100,000.

Sa individual category ang runner-up ay tatanggap ng P30,000 at ang third placer ay P25,000. Mayroon ding cash prizes para sa top five finishers sa tatlo mula sa apat na stages na nagkakahalaga ng P30,000.

Ang isa pang yugto, ang team time trial (ITT) ay may alok na P18,000 sa top three placers. Ang overall leader sa bawat tatlong yugto ay magbubulsa ng P3,000, habang P10,000 naman sa mananalo ng King of the Mountain award at Sprint King.

May 60 riders ang kasali sa naturang karera.
