Salvador luhod kay Abadia

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT-Ipinamalas ng second seed at Davis Cupper Adelo Abadia ang kanyang supremidad kontra ninth pick Niño Salvador, 6-2, 6-0 noong Huwebes ng gabi upang makarating sa men’s singles semifinals ng first Coca-Cola National Tennis Championships sa International Tennis Center dito.

Makakasagupa ni Abadia na kumana ng 6-4, 4-6, 6-0 panalo sa quarterfinal laban sa No. 16 Raymund Lopez ang fourth seed at kapwa niya Davis Cupper Michael Mora III.

Naligtasan ni Mora ang dating Davis Cupper Rolando Ruel Jr., 6-1, 5-7, 7-6 (8) sa isang mahigpitang laban bago niya naihakbang ang kanyang sarili sa susunod na round.

Nagtala naman sina third seed Joseph Victorino at No. 14 Pop Sabandon ng impresibong panalo upang makarating sa semifinals ng Group A event na prisinta ng Coca-Cola Bottlers Inc., at suportado ng Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) chairman Felicito Payumo.

Sa women’s singles, pinabagsak ng No. 1 Czarina Mae Arevalo si Rina Ortiz, 6-0, 6-1 upang makapasok sa semis kontra third seed Charise Godoy na umiskor ng 6-1, 6-2 pamamayani laban kay Joyce Haro, habang hiniya ng No. 2 Alyssa Labay si Jessica Haro, 6-3, 6-1 at itakda ang kanilang paghaharap ni Patricia Santos na nanaig kontra Julie Anne Cadiente, 6-3, 6-1.
