National Age-Group chessfest pinuri

Pinuri kahapon ni National Chess Federation of the Philippines president at GM Eugene Torre ang nalalapit na pagtatanghal ng National Age Group Championship na idaraos sa Kaban ng Hiyas Building sa Mandaluyong City complex simula sa Mayo 19-26.

"It is a welcome development for the Philippine chess because the event will focus on the youth," ani ng kauna-unahang Grandmaster sa Asia ng Philippine Chess Society-organized tournament.

"I believe this kind of program will be one of the best formulas in producing great Filipino chessers of world-caliber, just like what India and Vietnam has been doing."

Aabot sa mahigit 400 talento mula sa NCR, Bicol Region, Tarlac, Davao at Ba-colod at iba pa ang magpa-pamalas ng kanilang husay sa isang linggong National Age Group showdown na ito na sanctioned ng NCFP.

Bukod sa individual honors at P138,000 kabuuang cash prize, nakataya rito ang importanteng slot para sa Asian Under-16 ASEAN Age Group, National Juniors at National Kiddies championship.
