1st Metro Manila Youth chessfest sisimulan na

Siguradong umaatikabong hasaan ng talino ang magaganap sa pagitan ng mga batang woodpushers sa pagbubukas ng 1st Metro Manila Youth chess individual 25-years old and below non-master tournament sa Marso 17-18 simula alas-9:30 ng umaga sa 2nd floor Center mall sa Greenhills Shopping Center sa San Juan.

Ang dalawang araw na chess tournament ay bukas para sa lahat ng hindi titulado o non-master chess player na may edad 25 pababa sa koopersasyon ng Ortigas and Company partnership limited inc., na inorganisa ng Youth for Social Action (YSA) at sanction ng National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP).

Si dating Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office chairman (PCSO) Manoling Morato ang siyang inspirational speaker, habang si Grandmasters Rogelio "Joey" Antonio ang siya ring vice president for external affairs ng NCFP at Ariel Alejandro chairman ng Youth for Social Action ang magsasagawa ng opening ceremonial moves.

Tampok sa nasabing event na ito ang hindi bababa sa 20 chess player na mga bulag na nagkumpirma ng kanilang paglahok.

Nakataya sa event na ito ang kabuuang P31,000 cash prizes na ang mananalo ay tatanggap ng P10,000. Ang runner-up ay mag-uuwi naman ng P7,500, P5,000 sa third place, P3,000 sa 4th place at P1,000 para sa 5th place.

Tatanggap ang lahat ng category winners ng tig-P1,000 para sa top lady, kiddies (5 to 12 years old and below) top junior (13 to 19 yrs. old and below) at top handicapped. Mayroong P250 registration fee na may libreng t-shirt.
