Dumating kamakalawa ng gabi ang four-time World Cup champion Paeng Nepomuceno mula sa London makaraang magwagi ng ikatlong puwesto sa World Tenpin Masters sa likod ng eventual champion Shalin Zulkifli ng Malaysia at Norways Tore Torgersen na nagbulsa naman ng ikalawang posis-yon.
"Shalin started hot with a 236 game which left me 40 pins behind immediately but I recovered with 5 strikes in a row in the second game and actually took the lead of 10 pins on the sixth frame but a washout and a split on the seventh and eight frames spelled the difference. It wasnt really for me and besides Shalin played extremely well and deserved to win. I am satisfied with my performance," paglalarawan ni Paeng sa kanyang semifinal match kontra Zulkifli.
"Previously whenever Paeng placed third or below, I privately felt the loss, but this time, making it to the top three was a win for Paeng considering this is his first outing in an international competition after a 2-year layoff following his wrist surgery," dagdag naman ng ama at coach ni Paeng na si Angel.
Isinama ng tournament organizers ang 5 babae sa field na mayroong format na 2-game matches.
