Tagumpay sa Mindanao Sports Summit inaasahan

DAVAO CITY--Optimistiko ang mga delegasyon na dumalo sa kauna-unahang Mindanao Sports Summit noong Lunes na isang kongkretong plano ang magma-materialize sa pagpo-promote ng development ng sports at physical fitness sa region.

"We have been waiting for this summit for along time. It is a positive step in charting the direction of sports in Mindanao," wika ni Davao City Councilor Cornelio Reta, ang Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines regional president.

At sa kanyang pagsasalita, sinabi ni PSC Chairman Carlos Tuason na " this summit links the sporting agenda of Mindanao to the overall thrust of the national government under the administration of Her Excellency President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo."

"The summit has repositioned the island of Mindanao as a reservoir of talents...We are sure there other Sulaimans, Jaitullas and Lerios out there waiting to be discovered," dagdag pa ni Tuason.

Dumalo rin sa opening rites sina Lanao del Norte Gov. Imelda Dimaporo, Davao City Mayor Benjamin de Guzman at PSC Commissioners Richie Garcia, Amparo "Weene" Lim at William Ramirez, tubong Davao City. Local Government Secretary Joey Lina na kinatawan ni Sandy Paredes, executive director of the Union of Local Government Authorities sa bansa.
