Jorge, sumuporta sa PBL

Ibinigay ni dating BAP Secretary General Nic Jorge ang kanyang suporta sa Philippine Basketball League.

Sinabi ni Jorge na dapat lamang na manatiling amateur ang PBL upang matugunan ang basketball development program ng bansa.

"Kung makakaupo kami uli, we will fully support the contention that the PBL should stay amateur or non-professional," pahayag ni Jorge. Moreover, this is the age of open basketball. Bakit ngayon lang nila kinukuwestiyon ang status ng PBL."

Binanggit ni Jorge ang malaking tulong na ibinigay ng PBL sa national team nang siya ay nanunungkulan pa sa BAP.

"The PBL has always been an ally particularly in international competitions. The PBL has always been vital source of national players and during my time, we had a harmonous relationship with the PBL," sabi pa ni Jorge.

"Isa pa, kailangan natin ngayon ng non-professional, commercial league like PBL just how the MICAA then complimented with the country’s campaign in international competitions," dagdag pa nito.

Ukol naman sa isyu sa liderato ng BAP, iminungkahi ni Jorge na gamitin ni Freddie Jalasco ang constitution and by-laws ng BAPI na nasa Securities and Exchange Commission.

"I’ve said in the PSA forum na willing akong makipagayos in support for the basketball superbody and for the love of basketball. Puwede nilang i-apply ang constitution and by-laws namin which was upheld by the SEC and the election staged by Graham Lim’s group, which now have Tiny Literal as president, will further be rendered illegal," paliwanag ni Jorge.
