Koordinasyon ng PBL at BAP sa pagbuo ng National Team

Ito ang naging tugon ni PBL Commissioner Chino Trinidad nang tanungin kung handa niyang tulungan ang national team dahil ang mga mahuhusay na collegiate amateurs ay nakatakda ng magpakita ng aksiyon sa bagong tatag na Philippine Youth Basketball League (PYBL).

Sinabi rin ni Trinidad na naging panauhin sa Lingguhang PSA Forum kasama si PBL chairman Dioceldo Sy, na hindi niya pipigilan ang mga manlalaro na mapipiling magdala ng bandila ng bansa sa international na kumpetisyon.

Ngunit, kailangang magkaroon ng koordinasyon ang PBL at ang governing Basketball Association of the Philippines sa napakaimportanteng bagay na tatalakayin para sa kakatawan sa bansa.

"BAP can write to us if they need players. Yes, we can actually encourage the PYBL teams to allow their players selected to the national teams. But actually, they should first seek the permission of their respective schools. And we also have to protect the interest of our team owners and players," pahayag pa ni Trinidad.

"The PBL is open-minded to helping the national team," sambit naman ni Sy. "Pero hindi naman puwedeng kakatok sila just a week before the international competition.

"Kailangan talaga ng open communication line and careful planning so as not to disrupt operations of the PBL. The formation of a national team requires long preparations. Anyway, BAP has its schedule of commitments a year ahead. And it would not be helpful to the country if we allow our players to be a part of an ill-prepared team formed within two or three weeks before the tournament. "dagdag pa ni Sy.

"We formed the PYBL as an avenue to develop collegiate and other out-of-school talents who have potential but have not yet good enough to play in the regular PBL conference.
