Quiboloy rushed to hospital due to pneumonia – BJMP
MANILA, Philippines — Alleged sex offender Apollo Quiboloy was rushed to the hospital due to pneumonia on Sunday, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) reported yesterday.
BJMP spokesman Superintendent Jayrex Bustinera said Quiboloy was initially brought to the government-run Rizal Medical Center (RMC) by personnel of the Pasig City Jail male dormitory for medical evaluation.
Doctors at RMC recommended Quiboloy’s confinement after he was diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia, but advised his transfer to a hospital with more advanced facilities.
Quiboloy is being held at the Pasig City Jail as he faces a non-bailable qualified human trafficking case before the Pasig Regional Trial Court Branch 159.
Quiboloy, leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, was also charged with violating Republic Act 7610, the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
He was transferred to the Pasig City Jail from the Philippine National Police Custodial Center at Camp Crame in November 2024.
