MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte slammed the European Parliament for supposedly meddling with the affairs of the Philippines.

"Itong mga buwang na ito (You madmen), why are you trying to impose on us? Why don't you mind your own business?" Duterte said speaking in front of the Filipino community in Myanmar last March 19 for a two-day visit.

His statement came after the European Parliament issued a joint resolution calling for the release of Sen. Leila de Lima, who was arrested for drug charges, and called on the government to investigate extrajudicial killings and have those responsible be prosecuted.
